Beyond the factory gate

We’ve been making steel in Papua New Guinea since 1973 – a Kenmore Group company, the country’s largest steel manufacturer and distributor, with facilities in Port Moresby and Lae and product moving to every province that needs it.

For most of that half-century, our job ended at the factory gate. You bought the steel; someone else built the thing. Not anymore.

From raw steel to the completed build

Our teams have moved on-site – delivering full civil and structural works, not just supplying the steel. Gabion retaining structures holding failing slopes. Structural steel for mining operations: conveyor galleries, hoppers, chutes, haul truck maintenance structures – fabricated here, erected here. Slope stabilisation is ours end to end, from the engineering to the last rock in the last basket.

And this is the start, not the destination. Atlas is a vertically integrated construction and civil engineering company – one partner from raw steel to completed structure, across housing, mining, petroleum, and public infrastructure. That’s a big claim for a steel merchant. It’s a smaller one when the steel merchant already owns the manufacturing, employs the trades, and has spent more than five decades building the relationships that get things done in this country.
